The Bitcoin Ark

The ‘fiat flood’ is coming.
Bitcoin is a call to all who value their time, labour, and life enough to protect it.

The Metaphor in a Nutshell

The modern economy is built on an unsustainable system of printed (‘fiat’) money and expanding debt that can never be repaid. This ‘fiat system’ causes rising inflation, which makes keeping one’s head above water perpetually more difficult. When this system inevitably collapses, a tidal wave of inflation will inundate everything, leading to a great ‘fiat flood’. Anyone without a lifeboat will be wiped out. Most are still unaware of this inevitable catastrophe, or where to turn for safety, but many are waking up. The fiat flood is coming and bitcoin is the ark.

For eons, humanity has searched for a form of money immune to inflation. Even gold, the preeminent historical store of value, suffers from inflation through mining, and has no known maximum quantity on earth. In January 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto gave the world Bitcoin, a digital money with a fixed quantity and verifiable scarcity. Nobody, not even Satoshi himself, has the power to alter bitcoin’s supply. This combination of absolute scarcity with decentralised governance, offers bitcoin holders immunity from inflation. Like Noah’s ark, Bitcoin is the lifeboat for humanity.

Thanks to Satoshi, bitcoin already exists, so we don’t have to build our ark. However, that doesn’t mean the road to bitcoin is easy. In the biblical story, Noah did not know when the great flood would arrive, only that it was coming. He worked with haste, diligence and discipline, and ignored all non-believers around him. Similarly, the bitcoiner’s journey calls for personal responsibility, humility, sacrifice, and independent thought. Studying bitcoin is a transformative and often spiritual experience. You’ll confront uncomfortable truths, about yourself and the world, but gain wisdom, foresight, and hope for a better future. Bitcoin is a call to all who value their time, labour, and life enough to protect it.

I’m Andrew P’ng

I’ve always been fascinated by how things work. When a system breaks, I look for root causes and try to solve from first principles. Through this lens, I view ‘fiat money’ as the root cause of the growing dysfunction in the world today, and I view Bitcoin as the solution. This website is my call for all responsible souls to reject the fiat system and consider Bitcoin as their refuge for their families, their life’s work, and humankind.
